We are a team of developers and designers with a deep interest in faith and spirituality — and Ayara was founded to honour our dear Muslim friends in the studio, whose love for Islam and the Ahl al-Bayt inspired everything you see here.

What are reflections?
Reflections are Ayara's in-app token system. They have no monetary value and are the means by which you access wisdom and guidance within the app. When you download Ayara, you receive 150 reflections included with the app. You can spend them to unlock wisdoms from any of the 15 categories, or to Ask Ayara Anything (one reflection per question).
What is the Wilaya plan?
The Wilaya plan is Ayara's premium offering. It unlocks the full app experience: Live Qibla compass, 5 daily prayer times, prayer notifications, monthly prayer calendar, 300 additional reflections, and the ability to top up reflections anytime. Purchase it from within the app through the App Store or Google Play.
Can I use all 15 reflection categories without Wilaya?
Yes. All 15 reflection categories are available to all users. You simply spend reflections to unlock wisdoms within them. The Standard plan includes 150 reflections, which gives you full access to all categories from day one. The Wilaya plan gives you additional reflections and the prayer tools on top.
How does "Ask Ayara Anything" work?
Ask Ayara Anything lets you submit any question and receive an AI-generated response rooted in the Shia Islamic tradition, drawing from the Qur'an, Nahj al-Balagha, and the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt. Each question costs one reflection. Responses are guidance for spiritual reflection — not fatwas or binding religious rulings. For binding rulings, consult a qualified marj'a.
Is my location data stored or shared?
No. Your precise location is processed entirely on your device to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction. It is never transmitted to our servers. We do not store, share, or sell your location data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How do I cancel my Wilaya subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through the App Store or Google Play. On iPhone: go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Ayara. On Android: open Google Play → tap your profile → Payments & Subscriptions → Subscriptions → Ayara. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid being charged.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not directly by OakDev. For App Store purchases, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play, visit your Play Store account → Payments & Subscriptions. If you experienced a technical error that prevented you from accessing content, contact us and we will do our best to make it right.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account at any time from within the Ayara app, or by following the instructions at ayara.app/delete-account. All your personal data will be removed within 30 days. Please note that account deletion does not automatically cancel a Wilaya subscription — you must cancel that separately through the App Store or Google Play.
Are prayer times accurate?
Ayara calculates prayer times using standard astronomical methods based on your device's GPS location. Times may differ slightly from your local mosque's schedule, especially during Ramadan and Eid. We always recommend verifying with your local Islamic authority for significant occasions.
Which languages does Ayara support?
Ayara currently supports 8 languages: English (default), Arabic (العربية), Persian / Farsi (فارسی), Urdu (اردو), Turkish (Türkçe), Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia), French (Français), and Azerbaijani (Azərbaycan). You can switch language at any time from the app's settings or from the language selector on our website.
Is Ayara available on both iOS and Android?
Yes. Ayara is available on both the Apple App Store (iOS 16+) and Google Play Store (Android 8+). Download links are available on our download page.
I found an issue with religious content. How do I report it?
We take the accuracy and respectfulness of our Islamic content very seriously. If you find a translation error, a misattributed hadith, or content that does not align with authentic Shia tradition, please email us at hello@oakdev.app with the subject line "Content Report". We will review and correct it promptly — jazakAllah khayran.
